This is a 4-page arrangement for solo piano based on the hymn tune TIS MIDNIGHT HOUR. The text was written by Annie Smith, an early Seventh-day Adventist pioneer who worked closely with James and Ellen White at the Review and Herald Publishing House. Alejandro Consolacion II was commissioned to arrange this hymn, and he beautifully captures the early Advent believers’ midnight-watch atmosphere—the tenderness, longing, and even the quiet uncertainty of waiting and wondering, “Is Christ truly coming in our time?” Barbara Irene Bennett, creator of Hymns for Worship, performs on the piano.
